It is a shame that poor organisation and poorly trained staff make Legend of the Seas a below average cruise ship. I would say somewhere between poor and average.

We didn't have a great start when entering our cabin and whilst the bed had been made and the bathroom cleaned (although there was hair in the bath and toothpaste marks on a cupboard) the rest of the cabin hadn't, there were finger marks on mirrors and TV, half empty bottles of water on the bed side tables, belongings in the drawer from the past passenger, food stuck to the sofa and no glasses in the room. A visit to guest services fixed the problem where the room attendant cleaned the room again whilst we were at dinner. The following day after we had left the room and put the 'clean my room' tag in the door my husband returned to the room as he had forgotten something to find our room attendant and his supervisor going through the room thoroughly. The guest services manager left her card in case we had further issues, but there weren't any. 10/10 for their response here.

The food in the Windjammer cafe is quite good, the hot food was served hot, the coffee ok (not great but drinkable). We only ate in Windjammer for breakfast and a couple of lunches.

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Cabin is located on deck 8 aft underneath the solarium. We knew the location when we booked and assumed that there would be chair scraping during the day but thought it would be quiet at night....wrong. The solarium is tiled (they need to rethink that for future refits with suites underneath) and the sound is magnified quite a bit. The chair scraping I coped with but it was the food trolley (which sound like freight trains in the cabin) that make the most noise. They must use the galley for other parts of the ship because the trolleys went all night, until we complained. I am sure we weren't the first to complain so I guess they try it each cruise and then adjust when they get complaints. Even so the trolleys stop just before midnight and start again between 5.30am and 6am.

The suite is quite nice with lots of cupboards and you can put your luggage in the wardrobe. There is a sofa and club chair in the room which aren't really that comfortable. The bathroom has a shower over the bath (which is full size), the toiletries they give you are ok, like you get at an average hotel. The bed is quite comfortable and they use nice sheets. The balcony is quite large with both a table and chairs and a sun lounge. We are avid coffee drinkers and there is a coffee machine in the room, but it is old and the coffee they give you is truly awful, so we didn't use it at all, preferring to get coffee from the solarium or coffee shop.
