We went on this cruise because it was a Panama Canal cruise. We could have lived without the rest of the ports we visited. Nothing but tourist traps.
Pearl is a nice ship, friendly personnel. Food is not bad, but not spectacular. Shore excursions not properly rated, so if you or someone else in your party is physically challanged, stay on the ship and enjoy quiet time. Entertainment is good and varied.
I have sailed with other lines and NCL is definitely the most casual of all. Never wore a tie once. Dining rooms experience cruise casual clothes.
