Russian river cruising is how Viking River Cruises started and as you would expect they have perfected this journey absolutely! The accommodation on board the ship, the food, the itineraries, are all perfect! Everything operates smooth as silk to ensure we as passengers enjoy every minute! As in every other Viking cruise I have taken the outstanding feature was again the staff on board the ship and the local guides they use off ship. What ever they do to have the best staff, keep doing it, they make our holiday experience fantastic! We came away feeling we had a better understanding of Russian history, culture, geography, the people and even the politics. Our visit to a Russian home one morning was a definite highlight!
Cabin Review
Veranda Stateroom
Excellent river cruising balcony stateroom! The only down side was our cabin had a pole running floor to ceiling in the middle of the cabin about one foot away from the bed with two 6" gussets either side where it attached to the deck. I kicked those gussets several times (once very severely and I think I fractured two toes! Very, very painful!)
Our cabin was serviced and maintained perfectly by the staff!
