This was our first cruise and we went primarily because our son was the music director for the Second City cast. We loved the Second City shows, missed only one! And went to the other shows on board as well. We had many great crew/server experiences and appreciated the care with which we were treated. Our cabin was kept up nicely and we loved our hall steward. We also loved seeing all the different countries from which the crew came. We are not gamblers so could have done without the casino, but I under. The sail out of NYC was amazing and we even got up early to see the sail in!
We did have a very negative experience disembarking. I don't know if it is always like this, but the lines were incredibly long with not enough supervision. And a big family behind us, barged past us (when we left, in their minds, a little too much of a gap) and verbally abused me/us (two men yelling really offensive things) when we realized what was happening and attempted to move up the line in their midst (we didn't even try to get back in front). I have NEVER experienced such rudeness! I think that if someone had seen what happened, it would have been dealt with, and I understand that this was fellow passengers, not crew personnel. It was not a pleasant way to end an otherwise great vacation. I suggest that there must be some way to guide the disembarkation process so that such a thing would not happen.
The cabin was actually roomier than we had expected, bring an inside, economically priced room. The hall steward did a great job of keeping things cleaned up and welcoming. We had room to unpack so and there was also room for us to store out suitcases out of sight.
