A little background on us. This was our fourth cruise overall, second with Royal (Mariner)and two with Carnival (Inspiration, Glory). We traveled with one child 11 and my in-laws who also traveled on the prior cruises with us. We drove to the port from central Florida with only a few detours courtesy of the GPS. We booked directly through Royal (usually through Travelocity etc) and it was a positive experience which included them arranging a connecting stateroom for our son at SINGLE occupancy rates!

Boarding was smooth and quick. We were at the port by 11 and on the ship by 11:30. We took a chance we could drop some things in the room but no luck. We went to the Windjammer and had our lunch. I ended up purchasing a soda card for $48 because I'm not into the ice tea and lemonade. I just made extra trips to supply an occasional soda for the family. It was a bit cool and windy out of Miami but MUCH warmer than our home in the Northeast.

We were able to get to our room just prior to 1:00 which was when we were told they would be ready. The room was similar to the Mariner with a few upgrades (flat screen TV). The connecting door to our other stateroom was not unlocked and it took a couple requests to have it opened (about 4 hours). One piece of luggage arrived quickly and by chance we found our other one coming off the freight elevator as we walked back from my in-laws so we grabbed it.

Cabin Review

Shower small. Almost prefer the shower curtain over the door. TV could swivel a little more for better view while in bed. Overall storage space ok for 2.
