This was our second Med. cruise in three years, both leaving from Barcelona, but hitting mostly different ports. We have completed 9 cruises now, seven of them with Roy Caribbean. This was our first time on the Vision-class of ships.
Embarkation was a breeze - we are Platinum members and when we arrived at the port around 11am we were the only ones in the Platinum and up dedicated line. We were able to be checked in and on the ship within 15 minutes. Out stateroom was ready promptly at 1pm, and our luggage arrived before we sailed.
Overall the service onboard was very good. Captain Marek was very visible and took part in may events, and was even by the door as we disembarked on the last day thanking guests for coming. His visibility and level of customer service appears to really help the rest of the staff put in that extra effort. We had no issues with the personal service whatsoever on the cruise.
Very spacious cabin. From the door, the bathroom is to the right, and closet to the left. Bed is in the centre of the room, with a 3-seat sofa near the balcony door. All cabinet/closet doors/drawers worked well. Balcony is good size with round table and two chairs. AC worked very well. Mini bar fridge is cool, not cold.
Love Barcelona! Walk up and down Las Ramblas, and explore the pedestrian areas in the Gothic and Ravel areas. Aim for restaruants off of Las Ramblas for better prices and more authentic food (not all deep fried and Amercanized)
The old town of Kotor is very small, but very beautiful. When you get off the ship you will have to wade through a dozen or more taxi drivers begging to take you on a tour. There are restaurants in the main square but there are cheaper ones in the small alleys. The old walls are walkable for the most part, you will have to pay the locals 3 Euros to get access to walk up the the top.
