This was our second cruise. Our first was to Alaska on the Pearl. The Pearl seemed to be a little more lively; with more poolside entertainment. The nightly entertainment in the Stardust theater was great. Many people commented on how good it was compared to other cruise lines. The food in the buffet was mediocre, but we enjoyed the two main dining rooms. We had a wonderful sushi lunch at their Asian restaurant, but I wasn't real impressed with Les Bistro. It felt rather stuffy but I didn't feel the food was as good as the two main dining rooms.
We had a nice balcony state room, which I really enjoyed. Our steward, Bismark, was always pleasant and more then willing to accommodate any personal request we had. About four rooms down there had been an issue with a toilet overflowing, which caused a nauseating smell in our hallway throughout most of our trip. I realize that the staff did the best they could considering we were at sea, but I think they have some serious plumbing problems.
The Manzanillo excursion through NCL amounted to four hours on a bus, which I would not recommend. We booked an amazing snorkeling excursion in Cabo. There was a real party atmosphere aboard; with music, drinks that never stopped, and lunch. I don't like cold water, so I was apprehensive about this excursion, but it was like swimming in your bath tub with tropical fish all around. In fact, one fish ate a piece of tortilla right out of my husband's hand. Before I forget, you must try the martini and margarita tasting. They are $15. per person, but well worth it. This really is a great way to meet and mingle with fellow cruisers.
Nice and comfortable. The bed was too hard for my husband, so they put a pad on his side, which helped him. I tend to sleep better on a harder mattress, so I slept very well. The shower drain wasn't working well, so I just would take a so called " Navy shower". I believe they have plumbing issues.
