  3. Celebrity Solstice
Some background to start- this is my 6th cruise and first on Celebrity. Things they did well: Very Clean- toilets were exceptional- they have attendants in them constantly cleaning them- this was great. The ship is nice but nothing exceptional. The room attendants were good, no complaints at all there. The buffet was pretty good but the egg stations ere chaos each morning and they seemed unable to cook toast to a crisp- it was always underdone. The rooms were a good size and the bathrooms were great- plenty of room and a shower screen and not a curtain which was appreciated Things that were Ok: The entertainment was Ok- some really good guests but some average shows as well. Most of the staff were pretty good. Things they did bad: Dining room only average- meals not hot all the time- variety not great. Casino- Rudest staff I have ever seen at a ship casino- manager was disgraceful Bingo- $59 u.s to play 3 games of bingo! It as such a rip off that one of the days they had to refund people who had paid because they didn't have enough people playing- fancy not enough people out of 2850 passengers- shows that people refuse to be ripped off. Selling- Constantly trying to sell restaurant visits (paid) and drink packages. We heard they put the price of drink packages up when all the Australians boarded the ship on Honolulu- top package was $77u.s per night PLUS 18% tip (compulsory) when you take into account the Aussie dollar the cost was around $120 aussie dollars per day for top drink package. The celebrity brand is a rip-off - not as good as you would expect for the dollars paid- will stick with carnival in future- food better and staff much better.

Too expensive and over-rated
