Sail Date: Oct 2015

We just came back from our Mediterranean Cruise, and the experience is pretty POOR.

We embarked in Istanbul & disembarked in Venice, which was in the reverse direction as stated in the "Viking Cruises 2015 & 2016 Ocean Cruises" booklet. In the booklet, it clearly stated that on Day 1 (if you embark in Venice), there's supposed to have an included tour, which bring you to St. Mark's Square, en route to Doge's Palace, and "On this included tour, you will also visit St. Mark's Basilica..." However, our trip that ended (disembark) in Venice has no included tour, actually there's no tour organized for going to St. Mark's Square at all (even if we're willing to pay).

When we called 1-855-viking after our trip to inquire how the trip was supposed to be: we were reassured (more than once) that the itineraries with the departures in the reverse direction (opposite to what's stated in the book) are the same in reverse sequence, and we won't be missing out anything. After we told the staff on the phone that we're just back, and there's nothing organized on our last day, the staff started finding excuses: Maybe we booked our flight too early & we missed out on our own, but we actually booked the air with viking also. Then the staff changed the excuse to "it's not really an included tour", (even though the booklet printed in black & white), it's just if you're travelling to Venice on Day 1, and you have the option to do it on your own time if you arrived early enough.
