My wife and I booked this cruise to relax at the end of a three week driving tour of the Canadian Rockies. We were rather disappointed. The underlying atmosphere was one of commercialism. Always a pressure to buy and spend - offers on this, deals on that etc etc. Maps of each port were provided, but the only thing they showed was the shops! It seemed to us that HA was getting some sort of commission back from the shops. There were deals on the on-board wine; we took the basic offer, only to find that we were being charged over £30 a bottle for what was very mediocre wine!
The cabin was cramped; food and service were for the most part rather average. Better quality restaurants were available, but at a high additional cost.
The vessel itself did not inspire confidence. Even several decks down there was water running down the walls when it rained. There were dehumidifiers running permanently; the corridors smelt of damp, and one cabin on our deck clearly had a problem with damp when crew members spent all day in there with dehumidifiers.
