Being a seasoned cruiser we were very disappointed with our choice of NCL'S Getaway. We were hoping for a relaxing time and found none on this ship. We were constantly being rushed thru our meals. We felt like we were in the way if we sat too long at dinner. We had a cabin steward that left trash in our trash cans /gave us threadbare towels that were so gray looking that I would use them to clean in my house. Dirty dishes were left in our cabin the whole week!!!!Gross! !!!! And yes we did tell him to remove them. At the buffet for breakfast we needed assistance on two mornings and the wait staff looked at us as what!!!!!. Trying to get a chair or someone to get us a chair was impossible !!! Getting to the pool if that is what you want to call it was surrounded by the same people everyday and they were roudy and mostly drunk!!!!!÷ The one day we got to the dinky pool was on Friday in the Bahamas. That was because we decided to stay on the ship. Also we were in need of a wheelchair for my husband in Tortola and the person who took him off the gangway refused to push him down towards the cabs. I had to take the wheelchair and push my husband down and I got yelled at by this man and was told I was going to get him fired!!! I told him I would take full responsibility for my actions .My husband needed to get to the hospital!!!!. We spent extra money for three specialty dinners and we felt they were fsr from special. The Italian restaurant was like eating in the Olive Garden. The Moderna Brazilliin Steak was the most fast service ever. WE could not sit and enjoy our meal . No sooner did we put our forks down and the plate was gone even when we e were not done. Also I was served a meal in the Tropicana that still had the plastic wrap on the meat!!!! The French restaurant was better than the rest but again we were really rushed. I know you have many people to serve but when you pay extra at least make the effort to do better. We did enjoy the entertainment on board. Again not enough places to sit and enjoy . I really wish this trip had been better. We enjoy the cruise line and we will try again just not on the Getaway.Maybe a unexpected cruise inspection will enlighten your staff!!!!!
