Sail Date: Oct 2015
Cabin: Family Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

My family of five sailed on Oct 10-17 on the Getaway and had a blast! We had other family members there as well, 11 of us total. Our two boys, 11 &10 yrs old, loved the ship. They enjoyed the ropes course the best and of course the water slides as well. Lots to do for them throughout the day. They did not go to the Splash Academy which is the children's zone. they spent a lot of time on ropes course, water slides, game shows and swimming. Us adults found the ship to be magnificent and service was great. All the bartenders were quite nice and all the staff was great. The kids enjoyed the towel animals from our steward, Arnold. We enjoyed the free drink package. I think you get the most out of that freebie. We enjoyed Atlantis Aquapark on our excursion. We took tours of Tortola and St.Thomas via off boat taxis....much cheaper. Food on the ship was good, not great. We enjoyed O'Sheehans the best and Tropicana room since it had entertainment. We loved the free style cruising and not dressing up. The best was Illusionarium Dinner. We paid for only this meal and it was outstanding! Highly recommend it! Kids loved it and so did we. The ship is huge and had so many things to do daily it was hard to choose what to pick. This was first time on a Norwegian cruise and we loved it. We would not hesitate to book again with them.

I also want to mention that our oldest son, 25, is in an electric wheelchair. He stayed in a huge accessible room with a large balcony. The room was great! He was also able to get around the ship on his own as it was quite accessible being relatively new. There were many handicap restrooms and elevators were always available. The only issue is that the hallways in the stateroom areas are narrow and if someone leaves food trays, luggage or maid carts in the hallway its like an obstacle course. Great cruise for wheelchairs though! We were stressed about how he would get around but it was a non-issue.

Family Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin O1

We had to split up our family of five as my oldest son, 25, is in an electric wheelchair. He stayed in an accessible room (12286)which was huge and had two long balconies. My wife and I along with our two boys, 11 &10, stayed in 5752 which is a family oceanview room with large window. The room was spacious for a ship room and had ample storage for clothes and stuff.
