This was by far the worst cruise I have ever taken. It started off bad and ended bad.
First of all, I just getting to the ship on October 4th was a hassle. Months and weeks before the cruise, Carnival stated in their emails to plan on boarding the ship between the hours of noon and 3:00pm for a smooth departure. There was no need to board sooner as we would have plenty of time to enjoy the ship and our vacation. However; about a week before my sailing, Carnival sent me an email stating to be at the docks between 10:00am-noon on the day of my departure. I was wondering what had changed to prompt them to send that additional email. After arriving in New York around 11:30am I soon learned the reason. It appears that it was nearly impossible to get anywhere near the Manhattan Piers that day as there was an MS bike tour which ended right in front of the docks. This was a total nightmare. I guess Carnival and the other ships in Manhattan who were loading and unloading passengers that morning had no idea that this was going on until about a week before the intended event. All roads were closed off and detoured and everyone young and old were getting out of their car service vehicles with their luggage and walking blocks to the ships.
And let me tell you about the so called Metermaids that need to take some drugs to calm down when dealing with the public and directing traffic. I have never seen nastier people in my life, and the city of NY should be ashamed of those women. They should be fired and used to make a training film of how NOT to act on the streets of NY.
Just went to Quincy Market on my own.
Lovely place for food and gifts.
Loved Kennebunkport. But need more than just an hour and 15 minutes to shop or eat some lunch.
Loved just walking around this port and shopping in the cruise terminal.
Very pretty in Saint John. But my Pub Crawl shore excursion was cancelled due
to not enough interest.
NY is a nasty enviroment, would not dare an excursion.
