Even though I have been on 7 cruises, this is my first cruise review for Adventure of the Seas sailing out October 3, 2015. Since I use this website so much, I wanted to give back. This is going to be a very long but thorough review.

As a parent of a toddler, I would like to express that I feel the Adventure of the Seas is not baby/toddler friendly as they advertised. I was deeply disappointed. I don’t take my child on Celebrity Cruise line because I know that it is not gear for that kind of demographic so I expected more from Royal Caribbean.

My biggest complaint is about the Royal Babies program, which basically the program is non-existent. My gripe about this issue will be split in two parts. First, if you have a child that is under the age of 3 and is NOT toilet trained, the key is to look for a ship that advertises Royal Babies and Tots NURSERY. The key word here is “Nursery”. The Nursery is the place where you can register your child and drop them off daycare style for $6-$8 an hour. I did not realize that this service was only available on certain ships because I just saw that the ship had the Royal Babies program and I figured that I was good. Plus I had used the Nursery last year on the Freedom and it was great. Even the Splendor of the Seas has the nursery, so why would I question if this ship had the nursery if the Splendor, which is in a lower class, has this feature? Lo and below, it was a surprise that when I was looking for the place to register my child, I was told that no place existed. I had planned to drop my daughter off, at the very least, when I went on my island tour of St. Kitts and maybe to get some poolside time but after my initial disappointment, I moved forward taking my daughter everywhere I went. This meant she went to karaoke with me, my time dining, trivia games and the nightly entertainment shows. Second, Adventure of the Seas has the RC’s Royal Babies PROGRAM which is basically what they described as “interactive playgroup session”. I find this useless because I feel like I play with my daughter about 12 hours a day, I don’t need set time aside on a ship to do what is done on a regular basis at home. Instead of having a special space for this program, what RC has chosen to do is to take one of the conference rooms located on second deck and throw a whole bunch of toys and books in there. Now granted, my daughter was happy to play with the toys the one time we decided to check it out but I also found the area too dark to be a children’s area. It looked like it was designed by Kanye West. It was not a baby/toddler play area. It was literally a conference room with toys that were nicely arranged in it. They need to redo the whole program over on this ship and turn it into a real baby/toddler program.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

This is the second cruise where I had to have housekeeping change my pillow or sheet because I found blood that did not belong to any of my family members on them. This is disgusting. The bed skirt was also torn. I don't understand why RC would think that we would not notice.
