This was our first cruise - we had read a lot of reviews of Agean Odyssey before hand - most of them very positive. We were extremely pleased with the ship staff, food and yours. The hotels in Istanbul and Athens were definitely 5 star. Overall the excursions were well organized and staffed by knowledgeable local tour guides. We took advantage of all included tours and all optional tours. They are very long busy days - but we knew that based on the information that we read before booking. We booked a smaller balcony cabin on the belvidere deck. Lovely room with spacious bathroom, cabinet for storing/hanging clothes. We ate the majority of our meals on the back outside patio and enjoyed the variety of foods. Never once did desserts duplicate lunch or dinner with 5 or 6 selections. There was always lots of choices at all meal times.

I am shocked at some of the negative reviews- when we felt this was a very memorable trip. While we did have one rough day at sea it is to be expected in the Agean - the captain kept every one extremely informed through out the day while on board of sea conditions and there is a doctor on board to provide assistance for those who require it.

We highly recommend Agean Odyssey - it is definitely geared towards those interested in ancient civilizations. Although we were definitely a lot younger than the average passenger age is 60 plus but we didn't feel this.
