We had high expectations for our Oceania Cruise on the Marina. We had heard many wonderful things about this cruise line and were excited to finally be sailing with them. This cruise did not meet our expectations. We have been fortunate to sail on many different cruise lines, of all different classes; Carnival, Norwegian; Royal Caribbean; Celebrity, Princess. Azamara & Uniworld. We have enjoyed them all, some of which exceeded our expectations.
What we truly enjoyed on Oceania: The itinerary & the friends we sailed with. Our stateroom, Veranda, was awesome. The bed was best ever. Our cabin stewards, quite pleasant and did a good job. We had a wonderful time and certainly did not suffer but for the price that we paid, we expected to be wowed and we weren't. It was good but not great. We expected over the top as we had experienced on Azamara & Uniworld.
The food was good but again not great. We found the dining room food & overall service to be the most disappointing. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants. The most enjoyable was the Terrace Buffet! The food was very good, plenty of choices and the service was consistently good, with the exception of the sommeliers. Some were fantastic, others not so much. We found the service in the dining room as well as the specialty restaurants to be hit and miss. Some were excellent and some staff were like robots. The room service breakfast menu was limited but the service was very good.
Loved our cabin. Plenty of storage. Great bathroom with great shower & a tub! LOVED the bed & the linens and duvet. Sooooo comfortable. Best bed ever.
