Viking Star impresses with its excellent food, spacious and beautiful Explorers Lounge, multiple pools and stunning spa. The attentive, friendly staff excels at providing service above and beyond expectations. We enjoyed the very talented entertainers, who performed diverse shows nightly. We signed up for all the included tours, most of which were quite well done and interesting. The cruise offers many fascinating lectures and port talks. There is plenty to do, and we could not fit as much of it into our schedule as we'd have liked, even without opting for additional tours.

The inclusive nature of the cruise allowed us to enjoy lots of amenities at no additional charge including a tour lasting generally 4-5 hours in each port, dinner in Manfredi's Italian Restaurant, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, use of the spa (not treatments) including the thermal pool and snow room as well as the sauna and other facilities, 24 hour room service, daily high tea, movies on demand, self service launderettes with detergent, stateroom robes and slippers.

The ship's facilities are lovely with lots of spacious and beautiful public lounges for reading and relaxing. The stateroom is comfortable with plenty of storage areas and a more than adequate bathroom with a glass enclosed shower. The larger than expected tubes of nice quality toiletries include shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bar soap.
