I had always wanted to try a cruise holiday but my wife was very nervous about the water so I had given up on ever having this type of holiday. I had had a rough couple of years medically and after getting the all clear Christmas came and my wife presented me with a small box. A slip of paper was sticking out of it with the word "Pull" on it The first thing I saw was the word "Azura" This meant nothing to me then I saw the names of several Mediterranean ports and suddenly the penny dropped. The cruise was to be just after my 70th birthday.

We drove from Ireland and went to Southampton and I was amazed to see the size of the ship but first of all was the efficiency of the embarkation. So speedy and everyone so cheerful

On board the ship we had an inside cabin (I was a little apprehensive about this) but it was not cramped spotless and full of the little things not expected.

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

Did not take a trip instead we found the local town really good and enjoyed seeing the real Italy

Cancelled trip as everything we wanted to se in Rome was closed on Sunday. Instead we went into the town and enjoyed a coffee and People watching

Southampton

Embarkation and disembarkation superb

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Stayed on board as it would have involved a tender to land
