We have done 3 Viking River Boat cruises and were delighted to have the company venture into ocean cruises. Viking's new ship Viking Star is outstanding. The cabins are well designed and even the lower priced cabins are very comfortable. The bathrooms are the best that I have seen on a ship. One of the most outstanding features on the ship was the food. Every meal was impressive and the choices were varied.
All the ports of call were interesting except for Toulon, France. The included tours were usually excellent. All the additional cost tours were excellent.
The ship and this cruise are new to Viking and I believe that it will get even better with passing of time and passenger feedback.
We took this tour on our pre-trip and found it very enriching. The black madona is very impressive.
We had stayed in Florence on a previous trip and I had never been to Pisa. It was an enjoyable tour and I am glad we chose this one.
We drove along the coast to Sorrento and had lunch there with a short amount of time to walk along the streets and then drove to Pmpeii. Our guide gave an excellent tour of Pompeii.
The included tour was a walking tour of the old city. We had an excellent guide who make it a very interesting tour. We had time to walk around on our own but were caught in a downpour.
Included tour of Trogir, Cathedral of St. Lawrence, village of Burni and walking tour of Split. Another beautiful day in a beautiful setting.
Enjoyable boat trip, interesting glass factory, ended up at the Monastery on San Giorgio Maggiore. Could have gone to St. Mark's Square but had done that the day before.
