The Viking Ocean Star is not quite at the level of Viking River longships. Though the food was outstanding and the service staff was excellent, there are still kinks to work out and surprised passengers had to experience. The first night at "The Restaurant" resulted in lost orders between our table and the kitchen. Frustrated staff and managers tried very hard to resolve but obviously there were technical issues with the software/devices used to take orders. The Viking Service desk were not consistent on processes. Questions on airport transport at disembarkation to three reps = three completely different answers. Finally had to call for the manager who explained the answer. Extremely frustrating as passengers! Shore excursions were okay but overpriced. The tour guide in Athens was poor and we felt our tour was cut short; we were left 1 hour to walk around the Parthenon. More information on this beautiful site was expected. As a group of 4 couples, we pretty much agreed that this would be the last ocean cruise for us.
