From the moment we were met at the St. Petersburg airport (in spite of a short hike to the bus, but that's Russia, we had a great time. The crew, food, guides, ambiance on board, port stops, were all just great. The food was also very good as was the dining room staff. They went out of their way to learn everyone's name, and tried to make each meal one to remember. The singer and piano player were also quite good, and don't miss the vodka tasting. That was a lot of fun, and the presentation was over the top. The tours in Moscow and St. Petersburg were also well staged, and every event went very smooth. You can tell they have been at this a while. We are looking forward to our next cruise with them. The cabin is a little tight, but we expected that on a small cruiser like one of these. But it was just a bit loud at night since the water was a little bumpy on Ladoga and Onega. But once on the river and canals, no problem at all. Seems the ship builders could have worked on this a bit more. We were on the middle deck, and that worked just fine in terms of the view, etc.
The cabin was always clean, well kept, and attended. We really enjoyed this trip, the food and the crew. And of course the sights and sound of Russia. An amazing time. Hope to revisit one of these days.
As stated, compact but well appointed. It could have used a little more insulation in the ceiling for sound. We had to ask the neighbor to turn down the television about the third day out. No problems after that.
What a great city. Don't miss GUM, and the ice cream stop inside. And the Tretyakov is worth visiting.
We saw this in Catherine's theatre in St. Petersburg. Was quite entertaining. Lots of steps to get there, though.
We saw the Cossack dancers and they put on a very good show.
