Here’s my take on our recent trip on the Norwegian Jewel‘s cruise to the Mexican Riviera – October 5 – 12, 2015. I have always cruised Carnival (7 separate cruises) and have been on a variety of ships in both inside and balcony rooms. While this is my only NCL cruise to date, I will compare it to a composite of the Carnival cruises….please keep this in mind.

GENERAL….Carnival bends over backwards for their guests. The casino hosts make it a point to meet and visit with you and (depending on your play) they are always sending little gifts to your stateroom. Not so much on NCL. My wife commented on the third day of our cruise that she had heard the word “NO” from staff on our NCL cruise more than all the Carnival cruises combined.

(+ for Carnival)
