We have had spectacular Viking cruises. Five of them. The first on the Volga, Moscow to St. Petersburg, was, we thought, the trip of a lifetime. I'd like to go again. The China trip, Shanghai to Beijing, was a long way to go to see a new world but so worth it. And Vietnam and Cambodia, ditto, sights and sites of a lifetime. We chose the Grand European for our 30th anniversary and wanted a more leisurely experience with wonders of Europe in view. We got just what we wanted. We love the small ships of Viking compared to other companies. The meals on the Lofn and Vidar were most satisfactory. The staff at all points saw to our comfort.

We knew we were in for the trip of our dreams when during the first lunch the hotel manager of the Lofn sought us out and told us the ship was upgrading us to the suite as a thank you for our loyalty to Viking. All we could say was WOW and DANKE, DANKE! The accommodations were wonderful and roomy with a wrap-around view.

The land tours and guides were great. It was the right combination of special sights and free time. The organization for switching ships because of the water level and the final leaving were as good as they could be.

It was the surprise icing on the cake of our 30th anniversary dream trip! No complaints, only appreciation!
