We had to switch ships (Jewel to Crystal) half way through the cruise. The bus ride from ship to ship was about 2 hours and the switch was rather seamless. When we boarded the Crystal, we quickly noted that the crew were not as upbeat and friendly as on the Jewel. We also found that service was very slow in the lounge and dirty plates were not picked up quickly during buffet meals. There was one young lady, Erica, who did provide excellent service, but she was the only one. We also found that the food was not as good as on the Jewel. One evening they had a seafood buffet, but with 169 passengers all arriving at one time it was next to impossible to get to the food on the small buffet and we really did not enjoy the food. In the end we went from a 5 star first part of the cruise on the Jewel to a less than 4 star on the Crystal.

Cabin Review

Cabin Danube Deck

While our cabin on the Crystal was virtually the same as on the Jewel, the big difference was that if you opened the door to the balcony, the AC/Heat stopped working. As it was rather cool outside we spent very little time on the balcony.
