We did the Grand European River Cruise with Viking and loved every minute of it. The crew on the Viking VE were all so friendly and helpful. We did have to change ships mid way because of low water on the Danube, but Viking did an amazing job and made it all so painless. They took notes of any special requests (extra pillows, lotions, extra hangers, etc) and made sure that all these items were in your stateroom on the new ship. Friends we were traveling with left juice cans in the refridgerator on the first ship and when they got to the new ship they found the two juice cans in their refidgerator!

The new ship we transfered to was the Viking Gefjon and the only complaint we all had was with the people working at the reception. They were not very friendly and there was a woman in particular that was very rude. When checking out and paying the final bill she was very rude if you did not give the recommended amount for gratuity. We felt this was uncalled for because she has no idea if we left euros in the envelopes left in the staterooms and also we gave some of the crew that we encountered on a daily basis personal gratuities. This left a bit of a sour taste to what was otherwise an amazing trip over all. We will most definately be doing another river cruise with Viking.
