Just got back from a 2 week cruise on Thomson Majesty, our second this year. I really do find it hard to believe that people are shocked to find out that the ship is quite old and that the cabins are quite small. Surely when reading the brochure prior to booking, it does tell you exactly what size the cabins are and where they are, plus, if you are posting reviews on this site did'nt you read previous posts about the ship prior to booking.

I would agree with quite a few points other passengers have raised previously, 1 The food in all restaurants is good with a pretty wide selection, but it could be served a lot hotter. 2 Entertainment is very good, a quality show every night plus other types of entertainment throughout the ship, not West End standard but not far off. 3 Cleanliness of the ship is spot on, crew are permanently cleaning all public areas to a very high standard. 4 Yes cabins are quite small, as is the bathroom, and mold can be found on some tiling in the shower. Cabin stewards work exceptionally hard at keeping your cabin clean to a high standard. 5 The sunbed problem is the same no matter where you go, yes we encountered selfish people who reserved sunbeds and then went off for over 4 hours enjoying the daytime entertainment during the day at sea whilst disabled people were searching for beds. It is published in the daily paper the rules regarding reserving sunbeds but it is not enforced.

5 As on any holiday you get a cross section of people, from the ones who think its Butlins to the ones who think they are on a Cunard super liner. 6 The itinerary is exceptional, you only spend one day at sea per week, all the other days are spent in different ports which is what cruising is all about, not like some cruise ships where you spend half the cruise at sea. We did have a problem with the air conditioning in our cabin which was reported to reception and was fixed almost immediately with no further problems throughout the cruise. All in all we found the Majesty to be of a good standard with a friendly crew and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks cruise.
