Other than the horrible experience at the "hotel" in Brooklyn (hint - it was NOT "comfort"able), our trip was absolutely perfect. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather the whole trip. Well, except for the first night, where we apparently slept through a very loud thunderstorm! We were not sure what to expect with the sheltered balcony, but it turned out to be great!

The staff was without exception delightful - very friendly, very gracious, very service-oriented. Given their working conditions, I think it a miracle that Cunard has found such a great team.

We greatly enjoyed every aspect, other than the fact that the trip seemed far too short! We had planned to attend various events, lectures, shows, etc., but didn't make it to many of them at all, but still managed to feel as though our days were full of things to do!

Balcony, sheltered

Cabin BV

Very nice - showing its age only slightly. The only negative I can report was the multitude of adhesive bandages that were stuck to the balcony bulkhead and railing. Very strange!

Loved all the storage space! We also really liked the sheltered balcony, though we had nothing with which to compare it.

Port Reviews

Southampton

Had a slight problem locating our luggage, mostly due to the lighting. Somehow it turned my green foldover bag to blue! I walked past it a dozen times, until I finally noticed the luggage tag! Then it was a bit of a hike to the taxi stand, but everything went pretty smoothly.

New York (Manhattan)

Once at the docks, everything went unbelievably smoothly, from the Teamster porters to the people directing us to the embarkation doors. The only disappointment was that there was no way to take a picture of the ship! Otherwise, everything was great.
