Sail Date: Sep 2015
Cabin: Balcony

This was our 8th cruise on Carnival with one each the past four years on the Legend, Dream, Sunshine and Valor. Have sailed on seven other cruise lines. There appeared to be many more first time cruisers on this sailing and far less gold, platinum and diamond customers than the last few years. The first part of the review will be fact based and the second part personal opinion.

Embarkation

Arrived at Port Canaveral Terminal 10 at 9:50 am on 9/18 for the Valor. Baggage drop-off for early arrivals is at the far end of the terminal. Very easy drive up to porter, drop off bags and then backtrack to parking garage. Less traffic than terminal 6 where we had left from the prior two years.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8E

The room layout is just about identical to all standard balcony cabins on the Sprit, Destiny, Conquest and Dream class ships. When looking forward from the balcony you look across the owner’s suite balcony and can see forward through the large window on that balcony. Looking down and forward gives you a view of the bridge and you will see the bridge staff when docking on that side of the ship. The balcony light did not work in this cabin and that may be because of the proximity of the bridge.
