A little information on us. We are a couple in our late 50's who was traveling with my wife's two sisters. We have done seven cruises this being the first one on RCI and the first one outside the US ports. Prior to the cruise we wandered around Northern Italy for a week and ended up in Rome.

We booked a hotel near the Termini Train Station in Rome which is the perfect launch point for tours and exploration around Rome. This is where the hop on hop off buses are based and allowed us to get to our guided tours efficiently. If you want to stay at the port it seemed to be a nice town. We booked with romelimo to take us to the port and to the airport after the cruise.

The embarkation was the easiest and smoothest I have ever done. We did not have any special status but upon arrival about 1130 we were on the ship in about 15 minutes. You come into a tent and fill out your medical information to see if you have any illness if you have not done so and then move into the next tent. There you xray your stuff and move to the line to get your seapass. After that right on to the ship.

Large cabin, sorry beds. Usually get balconys but might just get Oceanviews from this point forward. Large cabin.
