I like many others were very skeptical of what I might encounter on the Breakaway based on a lot of previous reviews. All I can say was that I had a fabulous time on the ship and really did not have any major problems or concerns. I had previously sailed on the Gem and the Epic with Norwegian and twice on the Explorer (RCCL).

My husband and I wanted to get away for our 25th Anniversary and wanted to return to Bermuda where we honeymooned 25 years ago. Our two choices leaving from the tri-state area were the 5 day on RCCL and the 7 day on the Breakaway. All I can say is that I am very happy with my decision to have chosen the Breakaway.

Leaving this 3rd week in September was fantastic. There were very few kids (although I was surprised to see as many as I did of school age) but I did not feel in any way that the ship was over run with school children or teenagers.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Cabin was very nice. I would choose one with the bed next to the balcony next time for easier access to the closet. I did not find any drawers which I thought was unusual, but I did use the larger drawer under the couch which held all of my clothing other than what I hung in the closet and my husband used the shelves in the closet. We were able to store both suitcases (one large and one medium sized one) under the bed. Our cabin steward was available and we saw him several times a day.

If you are arranging a cab to pick you up upon after your cruise, you should have them pick up up across the street on 12th Avenue. They cannot pick you up on the terminal side.
