We went on cruise from New York City to Bermuda on the Norwegian Breakaway on August 30, 2015 for seven days. We had a wonderful time, despite being a very nervous because of all the negative reviews we had read on the Internet about this cruise. We are proud to declare that most of the negativity was a misrepresentation. We only have a few complaints: guest services is far from perfect and always slow. Poor arrangement of smoking areas. It seams like it all in the middle of public areas, so you inhale smoke all the time when you pass it. Also, it was not enough time to stay in Bermuda (only two and a half days). Otherwise everything went pretty well.

Boarding the ship: This was easy and fast. We got off the taxi by Pier 88 and got our luggage checked in right on the curb. Then we proceeded inside of the checking facility for passport control and to obtain our ship ID cards. The lines were long but moving fast.

The Ship: This is a new ship and all the equipment is working fine. Its also very clean. The crew is friendly, polite and obsessed with cleanliness ("washy washy"). I admire how quick and easily they could accommodate and handle 4800 passengers.

The Cabin: We stayed in cabin number 12146 on deck 12. It was small, of course, but it was also very well designed. There were so many shelves that we were able to store all of our stuff without any problems. There were like 15 or so hangers, but if you need more, bring it with you. It solves the problem. What I liked the most was that we could place our empty suitcases under the bed so we didn't bump into them like we would do in a hotel room, or have them occupy an entire closet space. Very clever. The room has a TV, hairdryer, coffee maker and safe. There is NO iron or ironing board. You have to call to the guest desk to ask for it and this is a very time consuming procedure. Plus, you can only keep it, no more than two hours. So bring wrinkle free clothes, or your own iron. Also, there are not enough outlets, so bring a small power strip for your gadgets. The bathroom is roomy enough and as always, there are plenty of shelves and a LOT of towels. There is liquid soap in the dispenser by the sink and shampoo and body wash in the dispenser in the shower, which is very convenient. You don't have to run after the steward and beg for extra sets of soap or bottles of shampoo. Please note, that they do not offer hair conditioner, moisturizer, Q-tips or cotton balls. That stuff you should bring with you. We also had a small balcony with two chairs and a small table; just enough to sit outside and enjoy the view.
