This was our second cruise and first on Ventura. Having cruised on Azura three years ago we were looking forward to Ventura especially as it now has an Olly Smith Glasshouse venue which we loved on Azura.
We booked the select price as it included coach travel from Edinburgh to Southampton. We have looked at other cruise lines such as RC and Celebrity but feel not only are their prices for similar itineraries a little bit more expensive, the additional cost of finding our way from Edinburgh to Southampton on those lines makes P&O very attractive from a cost point of view.
First for the negatives -
We booked an inside cabin as based on our first cruise we didn't spend much time in the cabin. Compact but well thought out with a spacious walk in wardrobe.
We took the hop on hop off Tram and it was a great way to see the city. Also safer that taking the normal trams which are rife with pick-pockets
Too much to do on such a short visit!
Beautiful island. We got the cable car up and the Street Toboggan down, a must for Madeira.
Would have liked longer here but the Lighthouse is well worth seeing
Was raining heavily so didn't see it at its best
we just explored Arricife on foot
