We did the Eastern med cruise September 2012, on the Crown Princess, one of the ports I wanted to visit was Rhodes, but because of operational problems we could not dock, so I saw the Eastern Med cruise again for 19th September that included Rhodes again And Crete that I also wanted to see, the night before we were due to dock we got a letter to day our excursion to a beach on Rhodes had been cancelled, I was a sleep in the cabin and by the time my husband brought the letter in to show me the shore excursion desk was closed, so no Rhodes again, this was not the ships fault but the third party excursion company's fault partly, I asked the person on the shore excursion desk was it because of lack of interest or the weather report, she so no the trip was full so I said could she let me know why and I was told no.
The next evening the weather became a problem for the captain, so he announced that we would not leave Rhodes until the early hours of the morning. Our trip in Crete the next day was at 7.00am so my husband set the alarm for 5.30am, he went down to the desk and said will we be going to Crete and was told yes, Approximately 6.30 to 7.00am the Captain said we would not be going to Crete we would have an extra day at sea, we where not the only people saying we could of had at least 6 hours in Crete, so why did it take 2 days at sea to get to Naples ??? Was it because of the extra port charges in Rhodes that he could not then pay for Crete port charges.
What has made this so dissapointing is the fact that due to a health problem, this was my last cruise and the 2 places I really wanted to see. So thank you Captain for the dissapointmemt !!!
Cabin was what I choose as we like to be near front. Cabin attendant was very helpful as I was unwell, he was also very good at his job.
