Cabin: Spa Mini-Suite with Balcony

We stayed in cabin 14118, one of the Spa Mini Suites. I truly enjoyed the inclusion of the thermal suites, and it was a great way to start your day by relaxing on the heated beds or with an herbal tea on the deck looking at the sun. However, I was disappointed with the spa staff, who were really more skilled at marketing than providing personalized customer service.

Entertainment was top notch (in particular, the Cirque and Burn the Floor), and we found we had great meal\bar service. We aren't fond of buffets, but did try it once for breakfast. The food was reasonable, but it was disappointing to find the table staff did not bring drinks to you, or find your table. (this is something we enjoyed while at buffet in Holland America).

We purchased the Ultimate Dining package, so always ate dinners in the specialty restaurants. This was an excellent value, and except for the Teppanyaki restaurant (where the table chefs were inconsistent in their entertaining abilities), each of our meals was top notch.

Cabin Review

Spa Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M9

Our cabin was very roomy with loads of storage space. Rather than a shower (like most other balcony cabins), we had a tub with shower enclosure. The carpets were worn, but I understand the boat was going for a 4 week dry dock immediately after our cruise, where some soft upgrades were being done.

The deck for our stateroom was immense and very private (I'd estimate it was at least 3 times the size of the standard size deck). The halls and area around our room were also very quiet, however the location of our cabin meant that we were always awakened early morning due to noise and vibration from the bow thrusters being used to position the boat.
