Sail Date: Aug 2015

This ship as far as I could see has not been refurbished since the late 70's or early 80's. Our cabin had dark wood panelling, very dull. In one bar for the whole week we were on board there was a air blower constantly blowing on the carpet near the bar, and the wires were taped down with yellow tape. The drinks package (we each paid £198) did not even include a bottle of wine on the table at dinner, there was a wine waiter going round filling glasses up, I sat for 30 minutes at one point with an empty glass. If you wanted any decent drink you had to pay extra, even for a nice cup of coffee! I felt from the moment I boarded, that Thomson were just trying to get extra money out of us. Even the piped music on board was not by the original musicians! I would not sail with them again. Having said about the negatives, the excursions were good and we visited some great places. It was our first cruise so I did not know what to expect but I now feel there has to be better ships than this it was in my opinion very second rate, not luxurious at all. Looking through the paper work when we got back this was called a Platinum cruise, I hate to think what a bronze would be like!

Cabin Review

Cabin Platinum

Dark wood panelling made the cabin very dull. The brass round the window was all tarnished. The coat hangers were the type you get to hang coats on so my dresses slid off.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We loved Barcelona, vibrant and interesting. We used the metro to get to the cathedral but would have had to queue too long to go inside. Arrived 10.30 and would not have got in till 13.30. Still the exterior was stunning. We then caught the Metro back to Las Rambles. We had a drink at one of cafes that run up the middle of the road. It was only a short walk from the ship. It has made me want to go to Barcelona for longer, unfortunately we only had a few hours.
