After check-in we headed for lunch on the Lido deck which was surprisingly good.
After eating we took a walk one deck above where we noticed a few flying bugs, then we discovered they had literally taken over and were everywhere. I inquired and was told they are lovebugs and its mating season. My response was why not embark elsewhere or exterminate or warn the guests. I found it disgusting.
Afterwards went to my cabin [M254] only to find 2 of these same bugs in my cabin and on the deck; couldn't enjoy my balcony. I went to the purser who asked me if they were "fruit flies." No, I said, they are those "love bugs". I asked for a cabin change but of course there's a procedure. Housekeeping came and inspected and agreed with me; a change of cabin. I must say "Mary" the supervisor/manager handled the issue well and I was extremely happy with the results, change of cabin!
Couldn't sleep the initial night because of the "lovebugs" after the cabin change all was well.
I took the watertaxi over to Paradise Island and visited the Atlantis and the public beach at the Riu Palace Paradise Island. The beach was clean, the water was clear, and the weather was the best! Most enjoyable.
