The Preliminaries.

TA booked us into a hotel in the Barcelona suburb of Poblenou, 15 Euro taxi from Las Ramblas. Melia was uber modern and very comfortable. The area had two malls for last minute shopping, H&M, Zara, Burger King etc. wife was spoiled for choice.

Had a lovely meal in a local street restaurant on Saturday evening with local families, local food well cooked and at local prices. A cut above the fare on Las Ramblas, which can be a few ashtrays of oily sausages and greasy potatoes bravas.
