This was teamK's 6th NCL cruise and we're eager to schedule #7. This was our first cruise on the Dawn, which is the sister ship of the Star (our favorite). We like the mid-size ships rather than the really big ones. We embarked in Boston and it went as smooth as you can expect with so many people trying to get to the same place at the same time. Our 9th floor balcony cabin was delightful and the weather allowed us to take advantage of having the balcony. NCL has gotten the shower down pat enough to actually enjoy taking a shower on a ship.
The service ship-wide was excellent, especially our room steward who learned our names right away and called us by name each time he saw us. The dining staff could not have been better.
There was a nice variety of food. We do not choose to use the specialty restaurants, as we feel the both the buffet and the general dining rooms have excellent choices and we save the money to spend in town. We were a little disappointed that lobster was not offered in the dining rooms, but we were able to get our lobster fix onshore, so that was really not a problem.
Room was a typical balcony room. The bed comfort, closet and shower were above average. Needs at least one more electrical outlet and a little more room at the make-up desk and the safe area. Overall we were very comfortable.
