To begin with, we had a hard time booking the tours we wished to take. I can't believe complimentary tours could be "sold out"! Viking booked us on a flight from Chicago to JFK. What a disaster! No one knew where Norwegian Air was located for us to check in. It took our travel agent several months to finally get us seat assignments which we paid extra for. After lugging all our luggage from one end of the airport to the other, we finally found a Viking rep. We checked in to Norwegian Air and did not get the seats we were assigned. They would not change them, even tho' we had the paperwork. This airline charged for blankets ($5) and headset to watch the movie was $3.
The ship was beautiful and as usual, the food was awesome. We have no problem with the ship or the crew. Our cabin was spacious and very comfortable and the crew always is very accommodating.
Our cruise started out great, with Norway and Denmark. By the time we hit Berlin, there were 6 other cruise ships in port - much bigger than ours with many more passengers. Our ship was late getting into port, we rode a bus into the city. The river tour we were to take had left because we were late, so we were "herdered" across a busy street to another boat with very poor visibility. We were taken for lunch - restaurant too crowded - didn't even get to sit with my husband. We saw "Check Point Charlie" as we flew by on the bus and saw the "wall" from the bus window! We paid much too much for this tour as we did not get to see the things we wanted to.
The cabin was spacious and nicely decorated. The cabin steward was outstanding and he kept our cabin extremely clean. I especially liked having a balcony.
