Things did not start out well, as our luggage did not arrive with us in Amsterdam! We flew into Amsterdam, then caught a flight to Basel to begin our river cruise. The crew of the Viking Idi were very diligent in locating our luggage and had it delivered to our second destination the next day. Wondering what we would do without a change of clothes, we were offered free laundry service until our bags arrived. Not only were our clothes washed, but they were ironed and folded, and delivered early the next morning in time for our excursion.

The shore excursions were informative, varied, and extremely well timed! We had ample time on our own to accomplish our mission of finding a spinning top for our one year old grandson.

Meal portions were sensible and delicious. Dress was mostly casual and comfortable. Our cruise director was exuberant and entertaining. He truly made the cruise an event to remember!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

cabin was small, but adequate. It was a little unnerving to see the water level just below our stateroom window, but was fine after the initial shock.
