Having sailed a year ago on the small ship (Seabourn Spirit) I got spoiled into thinking that it is possible to have a feeling of cruising on a yacht even though I am on a cruise ship. With that in mind, sailing on a larger ship was something of a disappointment, but only by comparison to last year's cruise.
First, I must say, it is one of the best vacations I've ever had. The ship is in amazing shape. You can hardly tell it is moving even when it is going full steam ahead. The planning that goes into when and how fast the ship is sailing is all about accommodating the passengers.
The food and the services in all of the dining venues is top notch. The cruise embarkation and disembarkation are quick and flawless. Your luggage arrives just after you do in your cabin. Even the basic cabins are all Jr. Suites with very clean and comfortable bedding, plenty of closet space even for those of us who over pack. The cabin stewards are all doing a fantastic job and almost never seen as they accommodate your schedule and not the other way around. Amenities are all top quality and plentiful.
Cabin 526 was spacious, clean, and in excellent shape. The balcony had a solid metal rather than see-through glass half-wall which was more preferable to me as it blocked you from outside view when you say in a chair. Both balcony chairs reclined but I wish there was at least one sun lounger instead. Cabin service was outstanding.
Wonderful city with enough to do for at least a week. Visit all the highlights.
