We cruised for two weeks from Istanbul to Barcelona on 24th August. We were surprised at how Celebrity standards had slipped since we last cruised with them. We had a novovirus outbreak for the entire cruise but communication was bad and we had to rely on rumour which suggested there were up to 450 cases. Plates were dirty, cups were chipped and cracked and service was more akin to a Greek ferry. Constant pressure to upgrade beverage packages and overpriced port shuttles where, in some cases, there were free port shuttles. We left Istanbul early due to some perceived security threat. We were to sail at 9pm on 24th instead of 1pm on 25th; we missed out on much of the fascinating city of Istanbul. Eventually sailed at midnight so I guess the security threat was not too serious. Never again Celebrity.
