This was our second cruise with Viking and we were on the Skirnir's maiden voyage. My husband and I enjoyed the experience and the crew went out of their way to adjust for bad weather (cold and windy) as well as last minute changes made by the harbor master regarding docking/ relocation. Concierge Barbara and Cruise Director Joey provided exceptional customer service. Because of my onion allergy, the maitre'd brought me a menu every morning and had the chef prepare a special order of the day's specialty without onions. Front desk crew, housekeepers, etc. responded quickly to all requests. Shore excursions were delightful despite bad weather. Cabin was clean and lovely. Queen sized bed was comfortable. Fellow passengers were delightful.
Our cabin was clean, crisp, immaculate and beautifully maintained. Small refrigerator in room was rarely used. Had trouble with the TV, but front desk staff quickly fixed the problem so we could enjoy in-room movies appropriate to our trip (Monuments Men, Battle of Arnhem). Hair dryer worked well. Window was above eye level, but since we didn't spend much time in our room, we did not miss having a veranda or balcony. Enjoyed being able to see outside. Climate control inside the ship was far superior to the Viking cruise we took in China.
