Our first river cruise. Previous cruises were on typical medium size ships to Caribbean, Alaska, Bermuda and Greek Islands. We liked the Viking Embla best. It was built in 2012 but looked brand new; not a speck of dust in any corner of the cabin. Entertainment on board was limited but fun. Hotels (Intercontinental, Hilton) were excellent and well located. A dinner cruise in Budapest (suggested, but not operated by Viking) was inconvenient because of the long walk from the meeting point to the boat. The optional excursions were mostly worthwhile, but anyone who has been to Vienna or Versailles could skip Godollo. The included attractions, guides, and land travel were all good. Dining was convenient and the food well above average for buffet service. Every Viking emplyee we met was competent, friendly, and helpful. When we left our hotel at 4:30 AM, uniformed Viking staffers were waiting in the lobby and took good care of us all the way to the airport check-in counter.

No complaints at all. Heated floors in bathroom and shower were a nice surprise.
