We were pleased with the embarkation for Princess. That went very smoothly, and we were very pleased with our itinerary and excursions. We also felt that there was adequate storage in the cabin to put all of our belongings away.
We also enjoyed our anytime dining and liked our server so much that we requested his table every evening. The food was delicious.
The entertainment was good, and our favorite was an impressionist. He even got a standing ovation at the end of his performance.
We had great storage for putting everything away, and though it looked a bit worn, it was clean. Our room steward was very kind and conscientious.
Our main issue was not being able to sleep well. The galley was above us, and at various hours throughout the night we could hear very heavy carts being rolled across the floor above us. However, there was a very annoying noise that made good sleep nearly impossible. It was a loose rattling metal noise that came periodically throughout the day and the nigiht. The staff said that they did not know where it was coming from.
We really enjoyed the narrated bus trip from Anchroage to Whittier. The bus stopped for picture taking as well as at a wildlife refuge.
This is one of our favorite cities that we stopped in. It is the most scenic of the three that we went to. My husband and I walked up a very steep road and took a hike at Rainbird Trail by ourselves. There was no cost involved, and we enjoyed getting away from the crowds in a peaceful and beautiful setting! It is a moderate hike and in some places it was slippery and a bit difficult.
