Regent offered this cruise with business class airfare included. Upon returning from the cruise we and several other couples learned that the airline oversold their business class seats. Regent's offer was not contingent on an "if available" basis. Several attempts to get Regent to give us an accommodation for this downgrade, including writing to specific executives, were dismissed with an insulting "there is no further consideration we can extend". Well of course there is. Regent simply did not want to. Having cruised with Regent several times, it is somewhat amazing that they would choose to forego a token accommodation and lose much more by our decision not to cruise with Regent again.

The dining experience did seem to be a lower level than on previous Regent cruises. Wine selections were adequate but had been better in the past. There seemed to be a conscious effort by wait staff (read: management) to slow down wine service. At one dinner we instructed our waiter to return our food to the kitchen and serve us the wine we had requested several times already but had yet to receive.

The food & wine issues aside, the failure to afford us a token accommodation for failure to deliver business class air as offered - and paid for - was completely unacceptable. Blaming the airline is not legitimate. The offer was made by Regent, who should have assured adequate business class seats were available.

Cabin Review

Cabin Concierge Suite D

Lovely accommodations and service as usual with Regent.

Port Reviews

Pleasant train ride and day on shore.

Nothing really special but a pleasant shore excursion

This was actually one of the better shore excursions. Scenic and touristy but not overly touristy.
