1st time crusing with p&o. will not be booking with them in near future. Embarkation - going back in time, before computerisation. Ship looks great from the outside but the interior for this class of ship doesn't match, at best described as nice, just doesn't have any wow factor anywhere. Designed without main stairs in the central section why?? Lifts need reprogramming, and made more reliable they kept breaking down. The ship felt cluttered, and parts of the ship like the gym looked out of place. A bit like they forgot about it in design stage? Access to parts of ship meant you had to go up to get down, to where you needed to go (vice versa) and only one deck7 allow access to aft and forward. The most important aspect that needs improving is customer service! We have cruised twice before with royal caribbean and celebrity, even though both cruises had pros and cons the service received was 100% better the p&o could offer. The only service which stood out was the cabin attendant service which was excellent. Peninsular restaurant - waiters stood around chatting to each other, very slow table clearing. Meridian restaurant - waiters not working together, having to try to get attention, tables not cleared promptly, so you wonder why no tables are available to eat. Food was good but not as good as previous cruises. Bars - rude staff. P&o stupid system for ordering and receiving drinks. Eg.. Go to bar ask for drink, waiting for drink at bar but gives drink to a waiter to bring to me, he is stood next to me!! Unbelievable! This is meant to be green ship, paperless, you would think? But they love giving paper out everywhere. Port & shore staff - unhelpful and sometimes non existent. Disembarkation - very slow it equipment. The only plus side of this cruise was the entertainment. This was outstanding and the only plus point for this cruise.

Cabin Review

Cabin E517
good sized but not that modern, old style drawers and seating.
good sized shower room but you have to manoeuvre around door and toilet when getting out of shower.
