This was our 4th cruise with Holland America and 7th cruise overall. We travel to relax so we find the smaller ships of Holland America are perfect for us. We traveled to Seattle a day early, and stayed at the Hampton Inn, which we booked ourselves, by the Pike Market. Spent the day walking around the neighborhood, did a free tour of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and visited the Market, which is extremely interesting. There are a wide variety of items available in the shops, and many fine places to eat.
This was a 7 night cruise on the Amsterdam, the finest ship we have traveled on. Embarkation was very quick and hassle free, and at the end of the trip disembarking was equally efficient. Great artwork, especially the Clock in the Atrium. It has all the usual public rooms that are found a Holland America ship, Culinary Arts Center, Wajang Theatre with pretty close to 1st run movies, and the Explorations Café.
Our cabin 6128, a AA Vista Suite, had plenty of room and storage, the furnishings on the patio were an upgrade from previous cruises, a lounge chair and the table was big enough to eat meals on it.
Plenty of room and storage. Loved the balcony, comfortable seating and a table large enough to use for eating a meal. Great location on the ship, quite, and easy access to all areas of the ship.
Visited the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, nice tour. spent about 6 hours wandering around Pike Market.
Just wandered around town shopping
Walked for 40 minutes to the downtown area. Interesting historical buildings, all closed because we there at night. Very large shopping area,
