My husband and I have cruised many times on Royal, on many different ships, and have always been pleased for the most part. Because of the frequency of our sailing on Royal, we are Diamond--almost Diamond Plus members.

This was the first time we boarded at the Bayonne port, and we found that the check in was very slow. There should be more people working at the check-in. Because we are Diamond members, we get a bit faster check-in but people who we met on the cruise said that it took them 2 to 2.5 hours to get aboard. That is unacceptable at every level.

On that first day we went to the Windjammer which was mobbed--no seats--and very uncomfortable, and food that was unrecognizable. We left there and went to the Promenade where we were able to get some petite sandwiches which were ok except that every variety was drenched in mayonnaise.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

The best thing about the ship was the cabin. It is a very comfortable size and offers lots of room for clothes storage. The balcony is equally comfortable. We had an excellent cabin steward. Our cabin was always fresh and spotless!! She is probably one of the best stewards we have ever had. It was always a pleasure to return to our cabin.
