My wife and I took our 3 boys (4, 2, and 1) on the 9 night New England and Canada cruise out of Bayonne. We had cruised Disney two times prior (one time with all 3 boys) and decided to give Royal Caribbean a try since they cruise out of New Jersey where we live. Overall we were very impressed.

Rooms - We had two balcony rooms that were connected on Deck 10. Kids like to run around and there wasn't much space, but this was expected. Our room steward Jason, was great. Our kids looked forward to the towel animals he left in the rooms each night. We also had quite a mess kids eating food etc., but our rooms were always spotless thanks to him. The only drawback was that there was no bathtub. Again, we knew this beforehand.

Kids Pools - This area exceeded our expectations. It was very very large. The 2 and 4 year old had access to a massive splash zone with many water spraying obstacles. It was bigger than the kids areas on the Disney Fantasy and Magic. The kids also had access to a 5' pool and to another 4 foot circular pool. The baby could crawl around in a separate heated baby enclosure. We never had any problems finding deck chairs. In fact, most days the pools were not crowded.

Port Reviews

Halifax

Walked around the city. Went to Discovery Centre. They are moving the Centre and it showed its age. Decent museum if your kids are a little older. Also went to Secret Adventures hobby shop and to the Citadel. Great city. Will definitly return.

Saint John (New Brunswick)

We rented a car and drove to Saint Martins. Drive took about an hour. Saw the Sea Caves and ate a lobster roll.

Bar Harbor

We walked around the port. Small, but pretty. When kids are older will venture out to Acadia.

Portland (Maine)

We walked to the Children's Museum. I highly recommend if you have kids. It is like the Please Touch Museum in Philly. Great food city.

Boston

We took a water taxi to the New England Aquarium. It was very hard to find the taxi stand. It is all the way at the end of the pier behind the police station. However, once we found the Rowe's Wharf taxi, it quickly brought us over to the aquarium. Fun ride. Would definitely use them again.

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Decent terminal. Clean, but not much to do. Easy access to parking lot. Road work around the site was annoying.
